5 Roof Top Tent Comfort Tips in 2023

Want to boost the comfort of your hard shell roof top tent? Here’s 5 tips that will make your roof top tent feel even more luxurious!

1. Use real pillows and sheets

Trust me. Using real pillows, sheets, and blankets will make it feel like you’re at home tucked in your bed. We have an extra set that stays in the Roofnest, so we are set to camp at any time. Leave the sleeping bag at home (unless it’s going to be freezing)!  This truly adds to our roof top tent comfort.

2. Add a foam topper

After awhile, your memory foam mattress may start to break down and lose support. We have noticed this with ours and found a great solution. Adding an extra mattress topper will bring your comfort to a whole new level. It just takes a bit of extra work to cut it to your mattress size, but it is well worth it!

3. Add lights

A lighting set up will make it easier to see and add to your tent’s overall vibe. We absolutely love these lights because they make our roof top tent so cozy! Curious how to install them?

4. Use a Fan

We run a tiny, micro-USB rechargeable fan on hot days. It is also great for reducing condensation at night and creating a nice breeze through the tent. We rig it up using the straps that are used to pull the nest closed (I will add a pic, someday). This tip will certainly add to your roof top tent comfort!

5. Add heat

If you’re camping in the cold, adding an electric blanket, down comforter, or heater will set you up for success. If it’s going to dip near freezing at night, we will bring out 0 degree sleeping bags which helps big time!
