Roofnest Condor Overland Overview 2022

The Roofnest Condor Overland is Roofnest’s newest roof top tent release. It combines the aluminum shell of the Falcon with the fold out size of a Condor to create a unique roof top tent.

Aluminum Shell

The first thing you’ll notice about this roof top tent is the aluminum shell. In the past, Roofnest has only used this material on their Falcon, so this is a whole new material for flip out style tents. Roofnest claims the aluminum material is strong and robust, while maintaining a light weight. The Roofnest Condor Overland weights in a 165lbs which means you’ll have to double check your dynamic & static load ratings.  Overall, we think the aluminum shell of the Roofnest Condor Overland looks great, is light weight, and will be more durable than plastic alternatives.

Crossbars

A benefit to this tent is that you can carry gear on it. This means more space inside of your rig for dogs and snacks. The side of this tent has accessory channels which is ideal for mounting lights, an axe, or shovels. The Roofnest Condor Overland can also accept crossbars. These crossbars can hold 100lbs of gear closed and 40lbs of gear when opening.

Interior

Just like the standard Roofnest Condor, the Roofnest Condor Overland is spacious inside. The interior detentions are 93″L x 55″W. This tent will comfortably sleep 2 adults and a child or dog. The interior is illuminated by LED light strips, and it also has a star gazing sky light which is a nice feature. The mattress is 2.5 inches thick and has a washable cover to keep your tent clean.

Price

Unfortunately, Roofnest tents seem to be getting more and more expensive. As of January 2022, this tent is on the market for $3,595. This is a heavy price tag for a roof top tent however, competitors such as the iKamper are equally priced.

Who's this for?

  • Campers who don’t mind a bit of extra set up and need more space.
  • Overlanders who want to mount external accessories.
  • Campers with a heavy duty rig, I could never mount this to my car but I would go great on a full sized truck.
  • Campers who enjoy the aluminum look and feel.
