Hello there, I'm Ben founder of the Rooftop Trekkers.
Who I am.
Just a wannabe nomad, living the city life during the week and escaping to the great wide open every chance I get. I’m an avid adventurer who thrives on outdoor exploration, spontaneous road trips, and sharing our obsession with rooftop tents with everyone we meet. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa & currently living in Seattle, Washington.
How it all started.
I discovered my love for rooftop tent camping on an unforgettable road trip through Alaska. After spending a week living out of (and on top of) a truck, I decided life would never be the same without a rooftop tent. Before I knew it, the Roofnest Sparrow found a home on top of my Crosstrek, my new home-away-from-home could now be ANWHERE I wanted it to be, and the Rooftop Trekkers blog began.
Why I'm here.
I created Rooftop Trekkers to share my experiences and provide our readers with tips and tricks for maximizing the rooftop tent camping experience. I strive to inspire others to be adventurous, whether that be by hopping in your car without a final destination in mind or by planning the most epic road trip using my travel tips and itineraries. The rooftop tent life is perfect for anyone who is done with the hassle of standard tents, wants to upgrade their camping experiences and comfort level but doesn’t want to splurge on a whole new adventure vehicle.
